Anyway?

There are times such as now when I ask myself whether I should go to sleep, or push my eyelids open an extra hour. The only way to choose is by looking ahead to the inevitable consequences I will have to deal with in the morning. Do I want to do extra work tomorrow? or wake up even more tired? Its a lose/lose situation either way. As my body says sleep and my mind says work, I think I will settle on an uneasy compromise. Whats another half an hour anyway?

It Will Come Crashing Down Like a House of Cards

I often try to split my time up evenly; a half an hour here, a half an hour there. Lately I feel as if I have been doing things half way. Maybe I should be spending full hours on a shorter list. Maybe not...

I felt so loved at the time

Sunday was my birthday.
Yesterday was not my birthday.
Today is not my birthday.
Tomorrow will not be my birthday.

Birthdays suck.

Aw! Your hair looks pretty!

I have a friend who cries every time she gets her hair cut. It doesn't matter whether it is a trim or a total makeover, the prospect of change always upsets her. For years I've had a rocky relationship with my long hair. We've had our ups and downs, and ratty nests. Up until recently, I have appreciated its length, using it almost as a security blanket. Under the proximate stress of classes and life, the devotion to maintaining my long hair has been dwindling down to daily showers and a lifetime's supply of hairbands. Before I started ripping the roots out of my head, I decided to be revolutionary and and chop all of my hair off. Now above the shoulders, my hair is conveniently angled to enhance my features while pulling off a cute and stylish look. Or so says my hair dresser...

While I have adjusted to the transition of long to short hair rather quickly, my friends seem to be a bit hung up. Everyday someone feels the need to come up to me and inform me that my hair has been cut. I think if I hear it enough times, the announcement will start to surprise me.

An Applied Quote

I'm right and you're wrong. I'm big and you're small. And there is nothing you can do about it.

Carvel Ice Cream Cakes

Some people eat only the chocolate side, some the vanilla. Heck, some people love the icing the most. As for myself? The cookie crunch center has always been my vice.

The Tower is Melting

Today I spent the day running around a park, pretending to be a princess. There was also an alligator thrown into the mix somewhere along the way.

You Ran Out Of Baguettes?!?

When I was little I used to be obsessed with Panera Bread. I'm talking about the "I wanna have my birthday dinner at Panera" obsessed. Over the years, my love has trickled down to a sheer like. I now go to Panera occasionally, tonight being one of those nights.
After the realization that Panera does not have the best french onion soup in the world (mediocre at best) and the ending of free bread samples (ya know, by the door), it has plateaued to being a "dependable restaurant". I always know what I am getting there (a you-pick-two with a sandwich and salad, apple on the side), I don't expect anything more or less. Depending on how crowded the joint is, I may be surprised with a little fuller salad but other than that, it doesn't exceed expectations. I have only once been disappointed with a meal there- when they changed the bread for my favorite sandwich. Not too bad for a decently priced, semi-fast food restaurant.
